巧用连接词，擦亮你的英语作文
一篇好的书面表达，应该行文连贯流畅，具有“逻辑美”。使用恰当连接词，能使文章上下衔接自然、紧凑，使文章更为地道，更具“英语味”，档次也就更高了。那么我们来看看怎样巧用连接词：
一、 使用连接词拓展句子
不少同学在写作时会感觉到无话可说，表达内容过于简单且又不够清楚。使用连接词可以帮助我们打开思路，拓展我们所要表达的句子，使内容更清晰、更充实。
例1：我喜欢运动。
一般表达：I like sports.
较好表达：I like sports, especially swimming and playing basketball.
例2：杰克擅长英语。
一般表达：Jack is good at English.
较好表达：Jack is good at English. For example, he can talk with foreigners in English freely.
二、使用连接词进行过渡
除了拓展句子以外，连接词作为插入语最主要的作用是展现句子之间和段落之间的内在逻辑关系，对上下文进行连接，承上启下，前后呼应，使行文连贯，体现作者清晰的思路和条理。
例：我们的班长是个好女孩。她学习努力，各门功课优秀。她喜欢体育运动，积极参
加学校的运动会。她还乐于助人。她给我们树立了好榜样。
一般表达：
Our monitor is a good girl. She studies very hard. She is good at all the subjects. She likes sports. She takes an active part in the school sports meetings. She is always ready to help others. She has set us a good example.
加上连接词的表达：
As you know, our monitor is a good girl. She studies very hard so that she is good at all the subjects. What’s more, she likes sports. She takes an active part in the school sports meetings. In addition, she is always ready to help others. In a word, she has set us a good example.
三、连接词的分类和运用
1. 表并列或选择的连接词
and, both…and, as well as, as well, neither…nor, or, either…or…, not only…but also…等。
例句展示：
Ø The boy as well as his families is going to make a journey to Hawaii.
Ø Chinese proverbs are rich and they are still widely used in Chinese people’s daily life.
仿写练习
(1) 他不仅会讲英语，还会讲法语。(not only...but also...)
(2) 艾滋病的控制是中国乃至世界的一大挑战。(as well as)
(3) 今年暑假，Dr. Smith要和他的妻子女儿们一起去北京。(together with)
2. 表转折的连接词
still, but, yet, however, instead, nevertheless, in spite of, while, otherwise, on the contrary等
例句展示：
Ø She thought I was talking about her daughter, while in fact I was talking about my daughter.
Ø I did not know that then, although I learned it later.
Ø I’m not feeling very well today, otherwise I would do it myself.

Ø He was late as a result of the snow.

4. 表时间的连接词
at first, first，second..., firstly/to begin with, secondly..., then, next, later, meanwhile, at the same time, in the end, finally, after that, since then, for the first time, at last, eventually, as soon as, the next time, the first time, soon, before long, after a while, immediately, at once等

Ø She was thinking about giving up at first, but later she changed her idea.
Ø The first time I saw her, I knew something would happen between us.
