7月4日托福写作真题回忆之独立写作
原题如下:
Children will benefit in important ways to take care of pet animals.
范文如下:
According to a survey conducted by China Daily, it becomes a common phenomenon that with the gradually raised living standard of the public, nowadays an increasing number of families raise pet animals, which has dramatically attracted public attention. But when it comes to whether parents should allow children look after pets, people varying in personlities and ages hold different views. As far as I am concerned, it is beneficial for children to take care of pets, in orde to establish close friendship with pet animals and foster kids’ sense of responsibility.
To begin with, via spending long time staying with pets, children can develop close relationship with their pets. It is self-evident that the longer you stay with animals, the closer and deeper relationship will be established. Such an experience will enrich kids’ childhood and become beautiful memories children shall cherish for life. I still remember my first pet dog Steve. Back that time most desirable thing for me after school was to take Steve out to the nearby park, where we had so much fun chasing each other. Steve would always wave his tail whenever I came near and fed him. Without Steve my boyhood would have been so much duller. Therefore, raising pets can help children to build up a close relationship with them and thus harvest a colorful childhood.
Secondly, taking good care of pets is an effective way for children to foster the sense of responsibilty and great patience, which are of great significance for their future success. When parents allow children to raise pets, they become the host of their pets and thus they are obliged to do everything to ensure the health and well-being of their cats or dogs. For example, children have to prepare nutritious food and clean the living places for pets, which are sometimes boring and time-consuming. The difficulties and troubles accompanying the process of raising pets cannot be overcome without patience and the sense of responsbility.
Admittedly, there are a few disadvantages of looking after pets such as occupying children’s study time and making kids’ room become dirty. However, compared with the above reasons of our claim, these demerits can be neglected. Therefore, I strongly agree with the belief that it is conducive for kids to take care of pets, for they can not only develop close relationship with their pets, but also learn to undertake responsibilty as well as become patient in front of challenges.
7月4日托福写作真题回忆之综合写作
The reading passage proposes 3 possbile functions of brochs. The professor, by contrast, questions all the 3 proposals.
First, contrary to the belief in the reading that the broches are used for defending enemies, the professor claims that they are not designed for this purpose, because there are no windows. If the brochs are for defense, windows are necessay for shooting arrows to keep invaders at distance.
Second, the reading contends that the brochs are for food storage. However, the professor says that water tanks and fireplaces are identified inside the broch. For one thing, water tanks will increase moisture, which leads to rotting of grains. For another, fireplaces would produce ashes that could set grains on fire.
Third, the writer of the passage claims that the brochs are designed as houses for high-ranking leaders. However, the professor challenges the ideas of the reading by citing that the brochs are isolated far away from other residents. The fact is that high-ranking leaders are supposed to live close to other group members for better management.
