Some people think that the economic growth is the only way to end world poverty and hunger. Others think that the economic growth is causing damages to the environment and should be stopped. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

题目类型：社会类讨论型

本题是2018年7月28日旧题。审题需要注意的几点：

1、首先这种带有“the only”词组的题目越来越多，因此在审题中一定要注意这一方面观点的核心词需要围绕着是否唯一这一话题展开。

2、poverty and hunger这两个词可以分开分别阐述，也可以合在一起总体来写。

3、economic growth is causing damage to the environment意味着题目认为经济整张带来的坏处是针对环境的，所以只能局限在环境这个范围内。

4、be stopped now，需要注now意味着立即停止。

A方：

1.经济繁荣的确可以帮助当地居民消除贫困。 Economic prosperity is a direct solution when it comes to eradicate and eliminate extreme poverty and hunger.

2.除了经济发展之外，还是有其他的方式可以摆脱世界面临的贫困问题。国际救助就是其中之一。The solution should not be confined to economy. Foreign aid is an effective and direct way to wipe out poverty and famine.

B方：

1.经济增长是以污染环境为代价的，因为现在有很多行业还是依赖于传统的自然资源。Many countries sacrifice environment for economic growth, because many industries rely on traditional resources.

2.许多国家贫穷的原因更多是因为财富的分配不均，经济发展未必能解决此问题，反而多半会对环境造成问题。The root cause is uneven distribution of wealth and economic development is not a solution but a culprit for environmental problems.

个人观点：

经济增长可以帮助我们解决贫困和饥饿，但不是唯一的方法。此外现在停止经济增长是一件不现实的事情，因为人们的生存和幸福是首要需要考虑的因素，只是我们需要尽量提高环保意识，在二者之间达到平衡。

The development of economy can not be halted so more people can be relieved from poverty and hunger, but more efforts need to be taken into consideration. Meanwhile, the second idea mentioned is and infeasible as the human survival and comfort is the top priority for common people and the authorities. In addition, the awareness of protecting environment should be raised before it is too late.

题目：The chart below shows the percentage of adults in 5 different age groups living alone in the USA between 1850 and 2000.Summaries the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

思路：

　　本题比较明显的是整体都呈现上升趋势，而且55-64的部分一直是比例最大的。其次47-54的部分占据次高的比例比较长久，其余三个之间的比较可以去具体描述，需要注意一开始的1850年并未给出17-26这一群体的信息，需要单独点明。

参考范文：

The chart compares the proportion of US citizens living alone from 1850 to 2000 in terms of various age groups.

In 1850, figures for three age groups are given. Just over 2% of those aged 37-46 and those aged 47-54 lived alone, slightly less than 3% for the 55-64 age group. In 1900 the proportion of those living alone in the 37-46 category remained stable, but there were small increases in the figures for the 47–54 and 55-64 year-olds, compared with only 2% of those aged 17-26.

A new pattern emerged in 1950, with the percentage of those living alone increasing according to age. The year 2000 then saw a rise in the proportions of people living alone, with the percentage of the 55 -64 year olds almost doubling to 17%, ahead of the 47-54 and 27-36 age groups with 13% and 8% respectively. While 5% of the 17-26 group lived alone, the figure was higher among the 37-46 year-olds at 7%.

Overall, it is clear that the percentage of the US population living alone increased over the period in all age groups. The highest proportion of those who lived alone was among the 55-64 year-olds.
